Okay I will do that

Re: New to this forum

Thank you. Not on NDIS. I know it's there but not ready for that. Thank you for the other info. I will look into it and keep you and others informed of progress.

Re: New to this forum

How are things @Stargirl ? Just popped by this thread to check-in with you 🙂

Re: New to this forum

@tyme hi and thank you for asking. I spoke to headspace and someone will call in a week or two. I'm exploring what's out there. Daughter contacted me not long ago to say she has no money and wants me to help her get Centrelink payments so I will try to sort tomorrow. Have started the process weeks ago and feel guilty I did not complete it as I thought she would get enough work. Big task and I'm really stressed. Don't think she will have rent money this week.

Re: New to this forum

Hi @Stargirl ,

Glad to hear you have contacted HeadSpace! It's a start.

In a way, I'm happy she's reached out to you to ask for help to organise Centrelink. Is she able to work with you on the process so that she can do it herself in the future? I hope they don't keep you waiting too long. I'm not sure what it's like with Centrelink nowadays during COVID.

In terms of rent, can she contact the agent/landlord and ask for an extension? I hope she can. I guess monitoring money going in and out (budgeting) is all a part of growing up.

Let us know how you go. In the mean time, take care of yourself. Take some time out, especially since things are so stressful at the moment. Here is a link to Mindful Mondays: New activity every Monday if you are interested.

Re: New to this forum

Hello and hugs @Stargirl

How  are you going today xx

Re: New to this forum

@Shaz51 hello and thank you for the hug! I'm okay. There have been a few small wins with daughter who is back on medication and so much easier to communicate with. I'm looking for a Physchiatrist as daughter is asking to see one. She is supposed to have a review of her conditions and medication. That's where I'm at.

Re: New to this forum

That sounds good @Stargirl xx

My husband is cutting his meds in half by the specialist,  fingers crossed here that it will go well this time

And remember to include your self care time too , I am still learning that xx

Re: New to this forum

  • @Shaz51 thank you. I am looking after myself however I am tired. I need a holiday 😃 Interesting the doctor is cutting the meds. Maybe checking where the cut off point is? Your husband might function as good with lower doses. I wish you all the best with that. It's one day at a time for us all! Good to hear you recognise the need to look after yourself and that you are still learning. We never stop learning in these roles... Be kind to yourself and start with small self care ... Remember when you feel good it has a flow on effect..
