Couch and the ac/fan is where I plan to remain @Jynx don’t wanna move! I did go downstairs and spent some time with the kitties, they are all snoozing now though. I really don’t like going out in the heat at all. We have an open invitation all summer to my friends place to use their pool. But it’s the getting there and back I dislike. So don’t go often. It’s like being hit by a brick wall when you step outside in heat like today.
Oh that would be a nice way to wake up. Kitty purrs. I just dislike being woken in the middle of the night to the sound of them licking themselves!
there is so much I am looking forward to about the cruise. I’ve not done a cruise before. So it’s a whole new experience. But then it’s Disney on top of that. All the magic. I can’t wait to tell my D!

Hey @Bow
I wanted to pop in to let you both know that I'm going away next week and won't be back until the 3rd weekof Jan 2026. So if I don't respond for a while, that's why.
I hope to be able to read along while I'm away, but I don't think I can log in when overseas.
I'll see you when I get back.
Please take care and look after yourselves.
When are you going on your cruise again? Dec or Jan? I'm sure you'll love it!

@Bow need like, an air-conditioned suit haha I feeeeel that!! Like 'could you bring your pool to me for once?' 🤣
omg mooood that sound is such a trigger for my misophonia 😵😅
How's Mr Groot been? He'll be looking forward to having his house to himself again? Haha
Cooool! I've never done a cruise either, but my mum and sister just got back from one! I'll hit them up for any hot tips or funny stories they have 😋
Do you have a plan for when/how you're gonna surprise your D?
Have you been out to sea before? I went a couple times as a kid, but just in my dad's fishing boat. He helped me get my 'sea legs' lol

Oh an air conditioned suit would be totally amazing @Jynx ! Would have been very handy today. Oh mum said that they had to call an ambulance for someone cause of heat stroke. I missed it cause I was sitting in the car line waiting to bring our car in to load up.
I think I would need the pool bought inside the house!
It is why I can not sleep with a cat! Or a dog. A child invading my personal space is bad enough.
Mr Groot has been ok. He mostly stays upstairs, the kittens down stairs. I’ve bought them into each other’s territory a few times. A few hisses and back hairs up. Bit of sniffing. Depends on mr groots mood as to whether he wants to be around.
Will tell D on Boxing Day. Will give her a box of goodies that I have been collecting for the cruise. 🚢 I’ve been encouraging her to save her pocket money just in case we go on a holiday. Fingers crossed she doesn’t get seasick
does taking the spirit from tas to vic count as going out to sea?? I’ve done some whale/ dolphin watching cruises. And went out on one of the tall ships. Is a cruise something you’d go on?

@Bow that's so intense, heat stroke is no joke. I hope they're okay.
Haha don't make the same mistake a lil 24 y.o Jynx made and get one of those inflatable kids pools! My housemates and I got a HUMONGOUS one (like 3-4m across) and at first it was sooooo nice
But uhh.... pools need to be maintained or you get the grossness buildup... like months old bathwater combined with leaves and dirt and algae and many many bugs.... 🤣🤣
Haha cats are really good at telling us how they feel, hey! The few times I tried to introduce my ex's kitten to them they were very hissy lil fuzzballs!
omg so WHOLESOME!
Does she get carsick?
My dad always said if you're sick, try to pick a point on the horizon to focus on 😉
He also used to wear 'seabands' - these elastic wristbands with a little round nub that you position facing inwards to the soft spot on your inner wrist. If you feel ill apparently it helps to gently push the nubs into this pressure point I think? Don't quote me on that tho 😅
Yeah that's the Bass Strait! I reckon if you get to a point you can't see land it definitely counts!
I dunno to be honest, I'd have to find a cruise that suits my vibe and I'm not sure that exists yet... hahaha but who knows!!
Might have to google it 😅

Oh yeah, heat stroke is yuck @Jynx i start to feel unwell out in it. Feel like I’m suffocating. All sleepy and stuff. I need to do a summer/winter house swap with someone in the UK or something.
Oh me gosh! It was outside though yeah? That’s the thing with them small blow up/fold out pools, they really are only good for a day or so and then ya need to dump them and start again. We’ve had a couple over the years. Good to cool off in. Stupid ex left D unsupervised with one when she was 1. 🤦🏼♀️
Just feed and tucked the kitties in for the night. Realised that tomorrow nights dinner is their last and when I called to book them in they didn’t tell me from what time they need to fast. Figured I’d feed them around the usual time and then take away all their water and dry food. Gonna have to transport mumma Taylor separately cause they still try to nurse off her. They have been separated for a week but mums still all lumpy and bumpy?
them seabands….. I wore them early in my first trimester for morning…. All day sickness and I accidentally gave away my pregnancy to a couple of friends! So we have a couple of sets of them and there is also some over the counter motion sickness tablets too. She’s been car sick a couple of times.
the Disney cruise…. They have to go 12kms out to sea before they can open any shops on board. Cause they are American and something to do with taxes. They have to be in international waters. Have to remember that everything is in US$ and expensive!!

House swap is an amazing idea @Bow imagine getting to spend a few months in a little cottage in the highlands!! 😍
Yeah so don't get a giant one!! lol
Thankfully yes it was outside 😋
OMG! Not cool at ALL 😠
Maybe google it to double check? Though it might not be accurate information cos I imagine there's lots of different kinds of anaesthetic and stuff. Aww good luck with it all.
I hope your friends got good use out of em! Glad you're already onto it hehe.
Oh no... maths!! I imagine there's like currency converter apps and stuff, surely!

Oh a little cottage with a picket fence @Jynx and cosy fireplace to keep me warm when it snows! Just like this
I’m heaps fatigued today. It’s not a good day… the last few days haven’t been too bad, but today. Nope. 👎
But had washing to do which I hate. And I’m trying to justify why it is so much easier for me to put clothes on a clothes rack than it is to peg it outside. I even put the clothes rack outside. Today I used the clothes rack, a hanging rack and one of them things ya put all your socks and undies on. It is just easier.
I have to go get my boobs squashed this week. Ick. Mum was nagging me to go get it done cause I was due. It’s the same day as my SW’s organizations Christmas party. Been on the fence about going, mums been pushy about it. Encouraging me to go. I told her I got my mammogram before hand and I’d see how I felt afterwards. She was like oh it doesn’t hurt, you’ll be fine. (I know it doesn’t hurt and if I didn’t have a trauma background I’d most likely be fine). Urgh but I don’t feel fine about it.

@Bow oh it's so cuuuute! Fireplace is so good, I love just watching a crackling fire! Something very primal about it I think haha.
I totally get that! I'd rather drag my clothes horse out than hang things on the line outside - maybe it's the 'having to reach up' part?
That's really hard hun, especially the lack of understanding about why it's a difficult thing for you to engage with. Is it possible to organise your SW to accompany you or anything?
